About
“This is not a lesson about ‘the dangers of the internet’. You choose a card. The rest is about you — with no right or wrong answers.”
RADAR AI is an educational programme that builds emotional resilience in digital environments, designed for students in grades 9–12 and their homeroom teachers. Instead of lectures, we use a deck of 132 cards organised around five dimensions: you make choices, speak or stay silent, and practise practical self-regulation techniques. No assessment, no moralising, no “you must”.
FOR STUDENTS — what you get
- Interactive card-based sessions instead of lectures — nobody makes you explain a choice.
- Simple emotional self-regulation techniques, such as breathing and grounding, that you can use at any time, beyond the classroom.
- A space where you can talk about screens, social media and emotions without being assessed or judged.
- A certificate of participation, awarded at a public forum at the end of the programme.
- Completely free participation.
FOR TEACHERS AND HOMEROOM TEACHERS — what you get
- A free training course with certification — learn the card-based method step by step, working alongside a psychologist.
- The complete, open-source RADAR AI curriculum: ready-made lesson plans, worksheets and facilitation guides, ready to use during homeroom sessions.
- A certificate of participation and a physical deck of cards for your class.
- Guidance on implementing the method from the project team throughout the programme — you are not on your own.
THE PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE
- Psychoeducation sessions — co-led by a psychologist and a facilitator, covering the five RADAR dimensions
- Practical workshops — hands-on application of self-regulation techniques and exercises in digital discernment.
- Teacher training — the card-based method, ready for immediate use during homeroom sessions.
- A final public forum — presentations, dialogue and the awarding of certificates of participation.
THE PROGRAMME’S FIVE DIMENSIONS
- Resilience — the ability to recover from a difficult experience online without letting a feed dictate how you feel.
- Self-awareness — the difference between who you are and how you appear on social media.
- Discernment — recognising false or AI-generated information before sharing it.
- Skills — simple self-regulation techniques, such as breathing and grounding, that you practise rather than just read about.
- Relationships — how to ask for help, recognise a genuine friendship and respond when you see someone being mistreated online.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- “Do I need a background in psychology to take part?” — No. The sessions are led by the project psychologist; as a homeroom teacher, you facilitate the discussion, without diagnosing or interpreting.
- “What should I do if a student does not want to speak?” — Nothing out of the ordinary. Staying silent is a valid option — the golden rule makes it clear that nobody has to explain a choice.
- “Do I need phones, tablets or other digital equipment in class?” — No. All exercises can be carried out entirely offline, using paper cards.
- “How long does it take to deliver a module during a homeroom session?” — A standard module is designed to take 50 minutes — exactly the length of a homeroom session.
