The low temperatures recorded in Sibiu during this period primarily affect homeless people. In this context, we remind you that the Sibiu City Hall, through the Night Shelter, located in Piața Iancu de Hunedoara no. 3, offers support to these people, through overnight accommodation and other services.

On the night of January 11 to 12, when temperatures dropped to -12°C, the Shelter hosted 30 people (26 men and 4 women), with an occupancy rate of 75% in the context of the unit having 40 places available. The highest number of beneficiaries in the Center registered this winter was 33 people, on New Year's Eve.

During this period of frost, the unit is open daily between 5:30 PM and 8:30 AM. In order to support these vulnerable people, starting with December 24, 2025 and until now, it has operated non-stop, with beneficiaries being able to stay in the Shelter during the day. The average number of people who stayed here during the day was 18.

In addition to protection against the cold outside, in the Night Shelter these people benefit from:
The possibility of doing general body hygiene, having hot water showers, soap and towels at their disposal,
Means for sanitizing clothes, having clean change of clothes at their disposal,
Dinner and breakfast, upon arrival and departure from the unit
A hot meal at lunch offered to those who stay in the Shelter during the day, provided from the donations received by this unit.

Sibiu residents who encounter homeless people on the street or know them are encouraged to direct them to this Center or to contact the staff here at phone numbers 0369-436000, 0799-812579 or by email at adapostnoapte.das@sibiu.ro.
